Pokémon Champions, Game Freak's Leaked Multiplayer Game, Officially Revealed

Author : Christopher Mar 06,2025

Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title promises a fresh take on Pokémon battles.

The game utilizes the series' core battle system and facilitates online player-versus-player combat. The reveal trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastalization mechanics, hinting at a diverse roster spanning various Pokémon generations and types.

PlayCrucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games, finally providing a purpose for those countless Pokémon residing in storage boxes.

Currently under development for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, Pokémon Champions lacks a confirmed release date. However, it's been confirmed that Latin American Spanish will be included among the launch languages.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the same game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial details were fragmented, the leak suggested a multiplayer focus, although comparisons to Splatoon seem inaccurate based on the official reveal.
