- Whimsical visuals and dual viewpoints
- A blend of horror and comedy
- Releasing on October 30th
Contrary to Hollywood's portrayal (especially the glamorous vampires), blood-drinking nocturnal beings originate from genuine folklore, a fact that Real Vampires thoroughly investigates. True to its title, this game offers a narrative journey to uncover secrets about these fascinating creatures, presenting challenges along the way that may surprise you.
What stands out most is its foundation in real research by historian Dr. Lukasz Kozak. You will explore authentic Slavic vampire legends, all brought to life through distinctive cut-out art created by Julia Mirny.
Another standout feature is the ability to play from two perspectives: both the locals and the vampire itself. After all, reality isn't always black and white—especially when it comes to the undead.
Mechanically, you can learn from mistakes, engage in quirky mini-games, and mix horror with humor to solve mysteries, blending absurdity with factual accuracy.
Based on the trailer and screenshots, I'm not entirely sure how everything works yet—and that uncertainty is exactly what draws me in. This short adventure offers about 1.5 hours of gameplay, but the questions it raises will likely linger long after you finish.
You can pre-order now on the App Store and Google Play if you want to play as soon as possible. The game is scheduled for release on October 30th at a price of $4.99 (or your local equivalent).
