Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a welcome surprise for fans, though it's exclusive to mobile and not available on console or PC.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and emphasizes stability improvements and bug fixes. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to focus on other enhancements.

The update brings Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices, refreshes the app icon, and adds haptic feedback across both platforms. Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the locker-picking problem in 'That Bitch', the progression halt in 'Weed Killer' due to premature window breaking, and the disappearing police cars in 'The Rumble'. Additionally, the update addresses enemies' reluctance to engage Jimmy in combat, ensuring more balanced fights, and fixes crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The Bully community has long been vocal about their desire for a sequel, Bully 2. Although it was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially given the departure of many original developers from Rockstar. While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players.

For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old rebel navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and offers an open-world environment ripe for mischief.

You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
