The Arctis Pro was the top-tier gaming headset in SteelSeries' catalog before being succeeded by the Arctis Nova Pro. It includes several standout features not commonly found in other gaming headsets, such as a dedicated base station with a volume dial and OLED screen, the ability to connect via Bluetooth and 2.4GHz WiFi simultaneously, and arguably the best feature: a hot-swappable battery system. This design provides uninterrupted wireless use without the need for recharging downtime. SteelSeries supplies two batteries, so one can be charging in the base station while the other is powering the headset.
The Arctis Pro demonstrates the exceptional build quality synonymous with SteelSeries. Its headband is constructed from a lightweight steel and aluminum alloy, and the suspension headstrap offers excellent comfort for long gaming sessions. The ear cushions utilize an AirWeave performance fabric, similar to the material used on the newer Arctis Nova Pro. The ClearCast boom microphone retracts neatly when not in use. Audio quality is superb, delivered by high-end 40mm speaker drivers with high-density neodymium magnets capable of reproducing high-resolution audio frequencies up to 40,000Hz.
SteelSeries Arctis Pro Review by Matt Elliot
"The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless features a premium build, a comfortable fit, and delivers outstanding audio. Its clever swappable-battery design ensures you're never without power. While the sound is excellent, I give the performance edge to the wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC. It's more affordable by $70 and remains exceptionally comfortable and versatile. Alternatively, you can save significantly by choosing the wireless Arctis 7, available for less than half the price."
The Arctis Pro was succeeded by the Arctis Nova Pro in 2022. The best current price for a brand new Nova Pro is around $270 on Amazon. Although it is an excellent headset that received a positive review from us and includes notable upgrades like active noise cancellation and USB Type-C charging, its price is nearly double that of the Arctis Pro, making it a less compelling value.
