His message, "something big is coming. keep your eyes closed tomorrow," hinted at the leaked Switch 2 reveal on January 16th. The usual queries about Silksong's release followed, but Pellen's subsequent actions ignited a firestorm of speculation.
On January 16th, 2025, the Switch 2 announcement included a reveal of an upcoming Direct on April 2nd, 2025. A keen-eyed fan noticed Pellen had changed his profile picture to a slice of cake. A reverse image search traced the image to a Bon Appetit article featuring a Brooklyn Blackout Cake recipe, published on April 2nd, 2024.
Pellen also commented on the article with "mmmm tasty," prompting dedicated fans to scrutinize the cake-related comments.
