The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers an exciting glimpse into a new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world and the pivotal role Julia Garner's Silver Surfer plays within it. This two-and-a-half-minute clip showcases how Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) have transformed their universe into a shining utopia. In this world, Marvel's First Family is not only celebrated as a (growing) team of heroes who save the day but also as role models for people of all ages. However, their skills will be put to the ultimate test with the arrival of Garner's Silver Surfer, who descends from the sky to warn of an impending threat: Galactus.
Today's trailer is notably more action-packed compared to the previously released footage. We see Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and get one of our first real looks at Reed Richards' stretchy powers. These are fresh interpretations of the classic abilities the Fantastic Four have possessed for decades, and fans will get a better understanding of how they'll collaborate come July.Julia Garner's Silver Surfer steals the show in this trailer. Despite only speaking a few ominous words about this alternate Earth being "marked for death," this version of the Surfer appears exceptionally powerful, effortlessly handling the Human Torch and navigating through explosions. While we're still left in suspense regarding Galactus' full, updated appearance in the MCU, the trailer does provide a glimpse of him stomping through the city upon his arrival.
