The Sims franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a bang, and EA's event roadmap might still have a surprise or two up its sleeve.
Just today, The Sims teased something new with callbacks to the original game and its sequel. Their social media clips have fans buzzing with theories—and many believe the classics may be making a comeback in some shape or form. While nothing’s official yet, insiders say EA and Maxis Games might release digital PC editions of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 by the end of the week, complete with every original expansion.
If the rumor holds up, the next question is whether console players will get their turn—and when. With nostalgia at an all-time high, it’s hard to imagine EA missing a chance to tap into that demand.
Since The Sims 1 and 2 came out so long ago, official ways to play them today are hard to come by. Their re-release could bring waves of excitement to longtime fans.
