SoMoGa Inc. has released a revitalized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with stunning new visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD and developed by Hertz, Vay received a US localization by Working Designs. SoMoGa kept the spirit of the game alive with a 2008 iOS re-release.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The revamped Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen epic bosses, and exploration across more than 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is its user-selectable difficulty levels, catering to various player preferences.
Convenience is key with the addition of an auto-save feature, eliminating the frustration of lost progress. Bluetooth controller support offers flexible playstyles. Players can acquire new gear and items, learn new spells as characters level up, and utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.
The Story of Vay
Set in a distant galaxy, the game unfolds in the aftermath of a millennium-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashed into the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, causing widespread destruction.
Players embark on a quest to rescue their kidnapped wife, a mission that could potentially save the entire world. Attacked on their wedding day, the protagonist sets off on an epic journey to thwart the destructive war machines.
Vay's captivating story blends nostalgia with fresh elements. Staying true to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio options.
Download the revamped Vay on the Google Play Store for $5.99. Also, check out our other news: Unlock Love and Goodies with the Loving Reveries Update in Tears of Themis.
