For all the fun they promise, it seems all it takes to turn a carnival from a delightful outing into a nightmare is dimming the lights and adding a murderous clown or two. Still skeptical? Perhaps getting locked inside The Haunted Carnival will make you a believer.
This escape room-style puzzler drops you into its creepy carnival with a single goal: get out alive. Of course, numerous obstacles stand in your way. Much like last week's topic, Legacy: Reawakening, the game employs classic point-and-click adventure mechanics but lets you freely explore a fully rendered 3D carnival environment.
Naturally, the carnival isn't one seamless world. The Haunted Carnival divides your journey into five distinct rooms, each containing five unique puzzles. True to its name, the game promises a compelling blend of mystery and chills. If you have a fear of clowns, you might want to skip this one.
I'll admit I was initially skeptical upon spotting some AI art used in The Haunted Carnival's icon. However, I was pleasantly surprised—and a bit puzzled—to find the actual gameplay features crisp, low-poly environments that are quite visually appealing.
As for the gameplay itself, I haven't had the chance to try it yet. But if the puzzles are as thoughtfully designed as the environments, I'm confident this game is worth your time.
