S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025

GSC Gameworld, the team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has committed to delivering updates every three months. This commitment was announced on the official STALKER X (formerly Twitter) account on April 14, outlining the roadmap for Q2 2025.
The developers will provide detailed quarterly updates, ensuring transparency about what players can expect. Accompanying these updates will be patch notes to confirm the implementation of the planned features.
Following the successful Q1 updates that addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is poised to continue enhancing the game based on player feedback. The upcoming updates include:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has outlined several key updates, with a strong focus on the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. A closed beta will be conducted with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its public release. The developers are also planning to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop, enhancing the modding community's capabilities.
The A-Life system, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see ongoing improvements. After delivering a massive 110 GB update for the Christmas patch, the team is now focusing on "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhancing human combat with smarter tactics, such as better use of cover and flanking, and more strategic use of grenades.
Additionally, mutants will receive updates to make them more interactive—they will now eat corpses and react to threats. Other enhancements include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an increased player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, the addition of two new weapons, and continued efforts towards stabilization and optimization.
As a bonus, a next-gen update for the original STALKER trilogy is on the horizon. More details on these updates will be shared as their release approaches. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned to our articles for the latest developments on the game!
