Marvel Rivals Upcoming Changes
Monthly Hero Releases

NetEase has revealed plans to introduce fresh heroes every month as part of their initiative to maintain the game's dynamic energy. This replaces their initial two-heroes-per-season approach. During Marvel Rivals' Dev Vision Vol. 05 on April 4, Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong disclosed these changes along with upcoming seasonal adjustments.
The development team will implement condensed two-month seasons beginning with Season 3, accompanied by monthly hero introductions. "After careful consideration, we're transitioning to two-month seasons with new heroes appearing every month starting Season 3," stated Guangguang.

"Community feedback on social media has encouraged us to maintain the game's initial excitement," Guangguang added. The team is also evaluating new game modes to complement this strategy. If implemented, players could receive approximately 12 new heroes annually.
When addressing balance concerns, Guangguang referenced their data-driven approach during a March 14 PC Gamer interview: "We analyze extensive metrics including selection frequency, victory rates, and ability performance to inform our balancing decisions."
Season 2 Updates and Future Content

The latest Dev Vision introduced Season 2's Hellfire Gala event, where Emma Frost invites Marvel heroes to Krakoa. As an X-Men antagonist with telepathic powers and diamond transformation abilities, Emma Frost will debut as a Vanguard-class character.
The seasonal trailer showcased elegant formalwear skins for Luna Snow, Magneto, Cloak and Dagger, and Black Panther. The event draws inspiration from Marvel's Hellfire Club, a secret society of elite influencers.

Following Emma Frost's debut, Season 2.5 will introduce Ultron as a playable villain. The trailer hints at Ultron's robotic forces interrupting the gala, though additional character details remain forthcoming.
New Cosmetic Items Available
Marvel Rivals has launched new character skins for Thor and Hawkeye as of April 4. Thor's Lord of Asgard design reflects his comic revival by Odin, while Hawkeye's Ronin outfit mirrors his vigilante persona from the comics.
Thor's premium bundle includes the Rune King costume, matching cosmetic items, and exclusive emotes. Similarly, Hawkeye's package offers the Ronin skin with corresponding visual enhancements and character animations.
These developments demonstrate NetEase's long-term commitment to Marvel Rivals. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
