Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button
Functionality Will Be Revealed During the Direct
With the Nintendo Switch 2 set to launch in 2025 and a Direct scheduled for later today, April 2nd, the anticipation among fans is reaching a fever pitch. However, Nintendo might have already given us a sneak peek at some of the Switch 2's features ahead of the Direct, including the introduction of a new C button.
Nintendo has recently launched a new smartphone app called Nintendo Today, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players. Observant fans have noticed that the app's listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store include promotional images, one of which prominently features the text, "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics and more every day."
A closer look at the image showcasing the Nintendo Switch 2 reveals what appears to be the final version of the console, complete with newly designed Joycons and the confirmation of the mysterious C button on the right Joycon.
Back in January, the initial teaser for the Switch 2 introduced a new button beneath the Home button, which was simply a black square without any labeling. This led to speculation among fans about whether it might be a new social feature or a sensor. Now, with the final design displayed on the Nintendo Today app, it's confirmed to be a C button. The exact functionality of this button, however, is expected to be unveiled during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
