Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their popular sandbox game, Teardown, with the announcement of a new multiplayer mode and the upcoming Folkrace DLC. The Folkrace DLC is set to enrich the single-player experience with fresh maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players will have the chance to engage in a variety of events, collect rewards, and personalize their vehicles to excel on the tracks.
The much-anticipated multiplayer feature will initially roll out on Steam's Experimental Branch, providing early access for players to experiment with the new mode. Tuxedo Labs is keen on gathering feedback, particularly from the modding community. They are facilitating this by updating the game's API, which will enable modders to modify their creations for use in multiplayer settings.
The introduction of multiplayer has been a long-term objective for the developers and a top request from the game's community. This announcement signifies the fulfillment of that vision.
Upon its debut, the multiplayer mode will be available on Steam's "Experimental" branch, allowing players to dive into the new feature. Concurrently, the team will release API updates to support modders in adapting existing mods for multiplayer play. After thorough testing, multiplayer will be integrated as a permanent feature of Teardown.
Looking forward, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two additional major DLCs are in development, with more information slated for release later in 2025.
