The buzz around a potential Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake is heating up, with Singapore's rating board adding fuel to the fire by rating "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a 2025 release. This rumored collection, encompassing the next two mainline entries in the iconic series, is slated to hit a wide array of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
While no official word has come from Activision yet, a countdown timer in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is teasing some Tony Hawk's Pro Skater news, set to reveal on March 4, 2025. Adding to the excitement, Tony Hawk himself hinted at ongoing discussions with Activision during an interview on Mythical Kitchen, stating, "It will be something the fans will truly appreciate."
Following the critically acclaimed remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 in 2020, a follow-up with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 seemed inevitable. However, the landscape shifted when Activision merged the original remake's developer, Vicarious Visions, into Blizzard in 2021, redirecting their focus to Blizzard projects.
Tony Hawk revealed in a 2022 Twitch livestream that the initial plan was to proceed with the 3+4 remake right after the release of 1+2. Yet, with Vicarious Visions' absorption, Activision explored other studios for the project. Hawk noted, "The truth of it is that [Activision] were trying to find somebody to do 3 + 4 but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious, so they took other pitches from other studios. Like, ‘What would you do with the THPS title?’ And they didn’t like anything they heard, and then that was it."
With the Singaporean ratings board listing Activision as both the publisher and developer, the big question remains: who is actually developing this anticipated remake? All eyes are on the upcoming reveal on March 4, which promises to shed more light on this exciting development.
