Classics like the 1993's Super Mario Bros. and 1997's Mortal Kombat: Annihilation are prime examples, often cited for their failure to capture the essence and appeal of their source material. Thankfully, the tide is turning, with recent successes like the Sonic the Hedgehog series and The Super Mario Bros. Movie paving a more promising path forward. However, not all attempts have been successful, with films like Borderlands serving as reminders that there's still room for improvement.
