World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways!
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. For seven weeks, starting now and running until February 24th, players can journey through Timewalking campaigns spanning various expansions. Expect exciting rewards, a wealth of Timewarped Badges, and a significant experience boost.
This extended event builds upon the popular five-week Turbulent Timeways event from September 2023. Players will once again have the opportunity to earn the stackable Mastery of Timeways buff, providing a 20% experience bonus after completing four Timewalking dungeons.
This time around, however, the rewards are even more substantial. Completing Mastery of Timeways for at least five out of the seven weeks unlocks the Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2 achievement, granting the coveted Timely Buzzbee mount.
The Timewalking Schedule:
World of Warcraft has revealed the following Timewalking campaign schedule:
- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Beyond the Mastery of Timeways buff and the new mount, Timewalking vendors across all expansions offer permanent additions to their inventories. Classic vendors, for example, now stock Season of Discovery transmogs. Additionally, the Sandy Shalewing pet, previously available only during the initial Turbulent Timeways event, makes a return. Completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest awards Heroic gear throughout the event.
With the recent 20th-anniversary event concluding after 11 weeks of Timewalking, this event extends the Timewalking streak to a remarkable 18 consecutive weeks.
Looking Ahead:
The Turbulent Timeways event's conclusion date offers a clue about upcoming World of Warcraft content. The event's February 24th end date, coupled with Blizzard's typical release cadence and the holiday season, strongly suggests that Patch 11.1, "Undermined," will launch on February 25th – ten weeks after Patch 11.0.7. Combined with the second run of Plunderstorm (January 14th - February 17th) and the imminent major content update for The War Within, World of Warcraft is set for an action-packed start to 2025.
