Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, however, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5-year anniversary in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.
The EOS Date and Final Days:
The global server will shut down on March 28th, 2025, the same day the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the shutdown. This closure comes shortly after the global version's first anniversary on January 25th.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the global server's closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system and power creep almost immediately after launch. Despite positive feedback on the main characters, the gameplay and monetization aspects apparently failed to resonate with the player base.
While the global version is closing, players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to enjoy any remaining content before the shutdown. Alternatively, consider exploring other mobile gaming experiences.
