Jack Quaid, star of The Boys, has expressed his strong desire to star in a BioShock film adaptation. In a recent Reddit AMA promoting his new movie, Novocaine, Quaid cited BioShock as one of his all-time favorite games, highlighting its rich lore as perfectly suited for a film or television series. He stated, "I would actually love to be in a live-action adaptation of BioShock – one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
However, the BioShock movie's production path has been somewhat turbulent. Last July, producer Roy Lee revealed that following leadership changes at Netflix, the project underwent a "reconfiguration," resulting in a smaller, more personal film due to budget reductions. Despite these changes, Francis Lawrence, director of The Hunger Games, remains attached to the project. Details regarding the plot remain scarce, leaving the pre-reconfiguration vision largely unknown.
Interestingly, Quaid's resemblance to Max Payne has been widely noted by fans, particularly after the release of Novocaine. While Quaid admits to seeing the comparisons and appreciating Rockstar Games, he confessed to never having played Max Payne, adding it to his gaming to-do list.
Beyond BioShock, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware games, detailing his recent completion of Bloodborne, Sekiro, and his current foray into Elden Ring. He even admitted to using Reddit for tips and tricks to conquer FromSoftware's notoriously challenging bosses, showcasing his dedication to the genre. He concluded, "I'm a huge video game nerd… I love how challenging the games are – it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed.”
