Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they are developing this functionality, absent from launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential near-term arrival. This news follows a recent January 9th update addressing various bug fixes in Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The update notably reversed a controversial Zombies change, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode after community feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's confirmation came via a Twitter response to a fan inquiry. The developer stated that in-game challenge tracking is "currently in the works." This feature's absence in Black Ops 6, despite its presence in the Call of Duty HQ-linked Modern Warfare 3, had drawn significant player disappointment. The addition will greatly benefit players striving for Mastery camos, providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI.
More Improvements in Development
Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed another significant improvement: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This will eliminate the need for players to constantly adjust their HUD settings when switching between game modes. This feature is also "in the works," according to Treyarch.
