No More Collecting Stage Girls! Revue Starlight Re LIVE Announces Its EOS

Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's End of Service Announced: A Farewell to the Stage

The curtain is falling on Revue Starlight Re:LIVE. Konami has officially announced the game's end of service (EOS), with servers scheduled to shut down on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. After nearly six years on Android, this mobile game based on the popular anime will soon be a memory.

Reasons Behind the EOS Announcement

While not entirely unexpected, the EOS announcement for Revue Starlight Re:LIVE comes after a period of declining performance. Over the past five and a half years, the game struggled to maintain player engagement. Contributing factors include repetitive events, reused assets, and an abundance of costly battle passes. Furthermore, narrative choices, such as the abrupt shift from The Giraffe storyline to a less compelling plot involving a girl and her toy bear, negatively impacted player reception. The shutdown affects the global player base, including Japan.

A Look Back at the Positives

Despite its challenges, Revue Starlight Re:LIVE offered some significant highlights. Its soundtrack, featuring numerous songs from the anime, was a major draw. The game also boasted impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.

A Final Curtain Call?

Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have a few weeks to enjoy Revue Starlight Re:LIVE. Konami is launching several farewell campaigns throughout August and September. A "Thank You For Everything" campaign offers ten free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration event is underway, including two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience these final events.
