Koei Tecmo unveils a new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game spin-off from their popular fighting game franchise.
Launching March 27th on PS5, PS4, and PC, the game features a "global version" with English text for Asian markets. Players can participate in mini-games, customize character appearances, and enjoy a vibrant tropical island setting. The developers promise numerous opportunities to build relationships with the heroines and become fully immersed in the romantic narrative.
Venus Vacation PRISM represents a bold departure for Dead or Alive fans, offering a unique gameplay experience while retaining the series' distinctive aesthetic.
However, even this venture has its limitations. Despite the game's release, Koei Tecmo continues its ongoing efforts to combat the creation and distribution of unauthorized fan-made content. Annually, the publisher removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images featuring the game's characters. This persistent action highlights the ongoing tension between fan creativity and the developers' desire to control their intellectual property, particularly given the series' reputation for its attractive female characters and the resulting abundance of "adult" fan-created content.
