Saves Will Transfer From Demo to Full Release
On his official Bluesky account, Toby Fox updated fans that console testing continues smoothly despite remaining workload. The developer noted they're working to implement save transfer functionality from the current demo (Chapters 1-2) to the full release.
"Console testing continues with fewer bugs, though we still have significant work remaining. We haven't even begun PS5 testing yet," Fox wrote, adding that the team only recently acquired the necessary technology to enable save file transfers between versions.
With testing progressing well, the anticipated 2025 release window for Chapters 3-4 seems achievable. Fox confirmed this timeline through his Bluesky account earlier this year.
New Character "Tenna" Revealed in Developer Comments
Despite the heavy workload, Fox continues sharing amusing development anecdotes with fans. Known for his meme-friendly communication style and self-deprecating humor, the creator recently posted:
"When I showed my minigame prototype to friends and family, they all interpreted it as a desperate cry for help about development delays," Fox shared, clarifying that his family meant this positively while a friend found it hilarious.
Fans speculate this minigame might be content for Chapter 5, as Fox previously confirmed Chapters 3-4 content is complete. The eventual full release will encompass seven total chapters.
The developer's post also referenced an unreleased character: "When a friend who tested Chapter 3 long ago said 'I miss Tenna,' I realized nobody else could possibly relate to that statement yet." Tenna debuted during the 2022 Spamton Sweepstakes charity event, confirming this mysterious character's inclusion in Chapter 3.
