Destiny 2: Spooky Armor Unveiled for Festival of the Lost 2025

Summary

Destiny 2 players can vote on new Festival of the Lost armor sets inspired by horror icons like Jason, Slenderman, and more. The 2025 event pits "Slashers" against "Spectres," with Titans inspired by Babadook and Hunters by La Llorona, among others. Despite the excitement, the Destiny 2 community expresses growing frustration over ongoing bugs and declining player numbers.

Bungie unveiled new armor sets for Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost, allowing players to vote between "Slashers" and "Spectres" themed sets featuring iconic horror villains. This announcement comes as Destiny 2 concludes Episode Revenant, a season plagued by numerous bugs and issues affecting core gameplay mechanics, such as broken tonics. While many of these issues have been addressed, player sentiment remains low due to persistent problems and declining player engagement.

In a surprising move, Bungie's first 2025 blog post revealed the upcoming Festival of the Lost armor sets. This year's theme, "Slashers vs. Spectres," features designs inspired by horror icons and urban legends. Players can vote for their preferred designs, with the winning sets released in October. Bungie also confirmed the return of the 2024 Festival of the Lost's Wizard armor during Episode Heresy.

The "Slashers" category includes Titan and Hunter armor inspired by Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Ghostface (Scream), respectively, alongside a Scarecrow Warlock set. The "Spectres" category features Titans as Babadook, Hunters as La Llorona, and Warlocks sporting an official Slenderman armor set.

While many players appreciate Bungie's take on horror icons, the early reveal of an event ten months away surprised some. The community's focus remains on addressing the current state of Destiny 2, grappling with declining player numbers, persistent bugs, and overall frustration stemming from Episode Revenant's issues.
