Prevent a Lifelong Feud in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's "Battle of the Frogs and Mice"
Prochek and Olbram's conflict can be resolved peacefully in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, preventing a never-ending feud. Here's how to broker peace during the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" side quest.
Starting the Quest:
The "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" side quest unlocks after completing either the Frogs or Mice quests for Prochek or Olbram. Speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov to initiate the quest. Proceed to the designated pasture.
Choosing a Side (or Not):
You can choose to side with either Prochek or Olbram, leading to a fight. To side with Prochek, tell him "Let's get those Zhelejovites!" To side with Olbram, say "Let's go and see those Tachovites!" A successful dialogue check during negotiations might cause an enemy to flee, simplifying the fight. Victory rewards you with groschen.
Ending the Feud:
To achieve a peaceful resolution:
-
Initiate Peace Talks: Before heading to the pasture, ask Prochek or Olbram if they're willing to end the feud.
-
Consult the Baliff: Travel to Troskowitz and speak with Baliff Thrush. Select the dialogue option, "You’d finally have some peace." A successful dialogue check is needed to proceed. If you fail, you can sneak into the scribe's room to read the Troskowitz Chronicle (save your game beforehand!).
-
Decipher the Chronicle: Speak with the scribe and choose the option, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."
-
The Nail and the Oak Trees: Go to the pasture and locate three oak trees in a row. Examine the middle tree to find a nail.
- Placement Options:
- Middle Tree: Divides the pasture equally.
- West Tree: Favors Tachov.
- East Tree: Favors Zhelejov.
- Placement Options:
-
Finalizing the Agreement: After placing the nail, speak with Baliff Thrush again to confirm the peace agreement. Then, speak with Prochek or Olbram to bring them to the pasture and finalize the truce.
-
Reward: You'll receive the "Master Studies I" book from Baliff Thrush as a reward for your efforts.
By following these steps, you can bring lasting peace to Prochek and Olbram, avoiding unnecessary conflict. For more Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 guides and tips, check out The Escapist.
