Final Fantasy XIV offers a free login campaign! From January 9th to February 6th, 2025, eligible players with inactive accounts can enjoy four consecutive days of free gameplay.
This free period begins the moment you log into the game launcher. Check your eligibility on the Mog Station to see if you qualify. This offer is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
The campaign follows the release of Patch 7.15, featuring new Dawntrail side quests, including the return of the Hildibrand series and a new Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's New Year's message confirmed upcoming Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, along with smaller updates. He also teased future Dawntrail storyline developments.
This free login period provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to return to Eorzea and catch up. The campaign runs from January 9th, 3:00 AM Eastern Time, to February 6th, 9:59 AM Eastern Time, offering up to four days of free play. The 96-hour timer begins upon login via the game launcher.
Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account, inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Accounts suspended or cancelled for violating terms of service are ineligible. Square Enix encourages players to verify their eligibility through the Mog Station.
While the campaign is active, players can participate in the Heavensturn event (until January 16th) and await Patch 7.16 (January 21st), concluding the Dawntrail Role Quest side series. Though Patch 7.2 is still some time away, this free period allows players to progress through the Dawntrail storyline. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains a mystery, eagerly awaited by fans.
