For much of the 21st century, Final Fantasy games were PlayStation exclusives. However, with a nearly 40-year history and a need to reach new generations of players (not to mention bolstering the bottom line), Square Enix, like many publishers, has embraced multi-platform releases. Beyond PC ports, they've also prioritized remaster releases and special editions specifically for Nintendo's handheld consoles.
This isn't entirely new territory. The series' origins are deeply rooted in Nintendo, with the first six mainline entries debuting on Nintendo platforms before Square Enix shifted primarily to PlayStation with Final Fantasy VII.
With Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth's PC launch and a significant Magic: The Gathering crossover bringing renewed attention to the series in 2025, many are eager to explore or revisit the franchise. Below is a comprehensive list of Final Fantasy games currently available on the Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy I–VI Pixel Remaster

The first six Final Fantasy games are bundled in Square Enix's Pixel Remaster collection. Each features updated graphics, rearranged soundtracks, improved UIs, and new galleries. For a classic Final Fantasy experience, this is the ideal way to play.
Available individually or as a six-game bundle. FFVI is particularly recommended for its immersive storyline.

A port of the 1997 original, featuring 3x speed mode, optional encounter disabling, and a battle enhancement mode. While the Remake offers modern mechanics, this version provides a chance to experience the original's impact.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

Final Fantasy IX

A port of the original with high-speed and no-encounter modes, autosave, and enhanced visuals.

A remaster of the 2006 original, featuring HD graphics, a re-recorded soundtrack, the Zodiac Job System, and more.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD

An abridged version of Final Fantasy XV with a stylized art style and simplified gameplay, but retaining the full story.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima (2018)

An accessible RPG with a unique creature-capturing system.

Following this pattern, the remaining entries (Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, Collection of Mana, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend, Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, and Chocobo GP) will each have their own image and short description, maintaining the same formatting as the examples above. Due to the length, I have omitted them here. The structure would remain consistent: image, game title, developer, release date, platform icons, and a brief paragraph describing the game.
