Final Fantasy XVI's PC Debut: A Multi-Platform Future?
Final Fantasy XVI Launches on PC September 17th
Square Enix has officially announced the highly anticipated PC release of Final Fantasy XVI on September 17th. This news is accompanied by positive projections for the franchise's future on PC, with the director suggesting the possibility of simultaneous multi-platform releases for upcoming titles.
The PC version will be priced at $49.99, with a Complete Edition available for $69.99. The Complete Edition includes both story expansions: Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. A playable demo is currently available, featuring the game's prologue and an "Eikonic Challenge" combat mode. Progress from the demo carries over to the full game.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, FFXVI Director Hiroshi Takai revealed that the PC version "features a boosted frame rate cap of 240fps and support for various upscaling technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
