Ever download an app and then completely forget about it? Google Play Store might have the answer. A new feature is reportedly in the works that will automatically launch apps after they're downloaded.
The Details
Android Authority reports Google Play is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This would eliminate the extra steps of locating and opening newly downloaded apps. The app will open automatically upon completion of the download process.
This isn't official yet. The information comes from an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19. There's no confirmed release date or official announcement. However, if released, it'll be called "App Auto Open" and will be entirely optional. Users can enable or disable the auto-launch functionality as needed.
How it Might Work
Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear at the top of your screen for approximately five seconds. Your phone might also vibrate or ring, depending on your settings, ensuring you don't miss it.
