The anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) continues to build, with fans eagerly awaiting its release. Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has reassured fans that GTA 6 will be worth the wait and predicted staggering sales figures for the game. Dive into the details to discover more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day

Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, shared his bold prediction during an interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage. He expects GTA 6 to rake in a whopping $1.3 billion on its first day. Luke emphasized the unpredictability of Rockstar Games, stating, "What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He pointed out that GTA 5 earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, and he's confident that GTA 6 will surpass these figures significantly.
According to research firm DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its first year, with $1 billion coming from pre-orders alone.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also discussed the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly in GTA 6. While his character, Michael, has not appeared in GTA Online since its launch, the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, have made appearances. Luke hinted at Michael's potential return in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself. Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor in GTA 5, shared his vision for Trevor's role in GTA 6 with ScreenRant in January 2025, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment at the game's beginning.
Luke added, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the enthusiasm from both actors, no official confirmation has been made regarding the characters' appearances in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggested that GTA 6 might be in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York highlighted the game's unique nature due to its unpredictability. He stated, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't."
York believes that GTA 6 is currently undergoing in-house testing, with developers still adding final touches and extras. He speculated that the game is at least playable at this stage, and many testers may have already experienced it.
Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, but since then, the company has remained tight-lipped about further details. Reports from Take-Two Interactive's Financial Report in 2024 suggested a Fall 2025 release, but no official release date has been announced.
