Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 8: A Deep Dive into New Features
Hearthstone's Season 8 has arrived, bringing exciting changes to Battlegrounds! This update introduces new heroes, minions, cards, and a fresh gameplay mechanic: Trinkets. Prepare for a whirlwind of new strategies and exciting battles!
The Big News: Trinkets!
Trinkets are the star of Season 8, acting as powerful new upgrades. There are 56 Lesser Trinkets and 60 Greater Trinkets to discover, with the possibility of obtaining duplicates. These powerful enhancements appear on turns 6 and 9, offering 4 choices each time. Importantly, the Trinkets offered are tailored to your chosen hero and your current board composition (Elementals, Dragons, Murlocs, etc.), ensuring a diverse and strategic experience.
Meet Marin the Manager, the New Hero!
Marin the Manager joins the fray as the newest Battlegrounds hero. His unique ability lets you acquire a Trinket a turn earlier than usual, giving you a significant advantage over your opponents. See Marin in action!
A Roster Shake-up: Minions In and Out
Season 8 also features a minion refresh. While 41 minions are rotating out, 22 returning favorites and 27 brand-new minions are joining the game. Adding to the excitement are 2 new Tavern spells to discover and master.
New Cards to Collect
Four exciting new cards are introduced:
- Free Travel Winner (Tier 2): A 2/2 minion that disappears after surviving combat, rewarding you with a Triple Reward.
- Inspiring Underdog (Tier 4): Boosts your lower-tier minions.
- Lucky Egg (Tier 5): Transforms into a Golden Tier 3 minion.
- Sun Screener (Tier 6): A 10/1 minion granting Divine Shield to your three leftmost minions and your opponent's three leftmost minions.
Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt Event
From August 27th to September 17th, participate in the Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt event. Complete the event quests to earn a total of 14 packs, including those from the Perils in Paradise and Whizbang's Workshop expansions.
