Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th
Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. This marks the end of Season 1, a remarkably long 75-day run, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics on Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. The exceptionally successful launch of Black Ops 6, boasting record player numbers in its first month, has recently seen a downturn, attributed to issues like cheating in Ranked Play and persistent server problems. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game and address these concerns.
Season 2 Launch Confirmed
Treyarch confirmed the January 28th launch date within a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While immediate fixes were unavailable, the studio stated these would be included in the Season 2 release. A detailed blog post outlining the new season's features is expected soon.
Season 1 delivered a significant content drop, including new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events, alongside a major overhaul for Warzone. This included a fresh movement system, new weapons, gameplay improvements, and the introduction of Area-99, a new Resurgence map. The season also saw the welcome return of classic maps like Nuketown and Hacienda.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, though they've emphasized their commitment to original content as well. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering.
