  • Form a powerful squad of magical warriors
  • Nine unique heroes available at launch
  • Roguelike gameplay inspired by Slay the Spire and FTL

MageTrain is poised to redefine classic Snake gameplay with its upcoming release on mobile platforms next month. Crafted by Tidepool Games, this free-to-play roguelike fuses auto-battler strategy with precise positioning, delivering an accessible yet deeply engaging experience. Pre-orders are now open for iOS and Android.

Drawing from Nimble Quest, MageTrain expands the concept of guiding a growing hero chain by adding new characters, dungeons, and a robust skill system. Players must navigate a magical train of warriors through enemy-packed arenas, strategically placing each hero to optimize attacks and avoid fatal collisions.

At launch, MageTrain offers nine unlockable heroes, each with unique abilities that shift based on their position in the train. Some shine at the front, while others bolster the team from behind. Explore eight dungeons, confront 28 enemy types, and master 30 skills to forge dynamic team combinations.

The game embraces a roguelike framework with a path-based system akin to Slay the Spire and FTL. Each run delivers randomized challenges, letting players gather gold, power-ups, and upgrades to shape their strategy. Every defeat offers a chance to refine tactics, turning each attempt into a fresh journey.

Positioning is critical—while heroes attack automatically, players must skillfully guide the growing train to evade dangers and optimize formations. As runs progress, heroes grow stronger, but one wrong move could end the adventure abruptly.
