Marvel Rivals is kicking off its Spring Festival event this Thursday, and it's bringing some exciting freebies! Players can snag a free Star-Lord costume and jump into a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. In this 3v3 mode, teams battle to score a ball in the opposing goal.
While the mode's mechanics might remind some of Rocket League, the closer comparison is actually to Overwatch's Lucioball—a similar mode that also drew inspiration from Rocket League. This is particularly interesting, as Marvel Rivals is currently aiming to establish its own unique identity and differentiate itself from Overwatch. The Spring Festival event, therefore, presents a somewhat unexpected parallel to Overwatch's first special event. However, while Overwatch's event had an Olympic theme, Marvel Rivals' offers a vibrant celebration of Chinese New Year.
The good news is we won't have to wait long to experience the Spring Festival event and its exciting new game mode. It begins this Thursday!
