Mortal Kombat 1 added a secret fighter with a reference to a legendary rock band

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update brought a surprising addition to the roster: Conan the Barbarian. But the real unexpected guest is a secret fighter – a pink-clad ninja named Floyd! No, it's not a joke; he's a fully playable character.

Floyd is a clear nod to Pink Floyd, his introduction mirroring the iconic prism from The Dark Side of the Moon album cover. Interestingly, his moveset is a compilation of techniques borrowed from other ninjas, incorporating Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks. Adding to the fun, he boasts a quirky 1337 health points.

This secret character release evokes memories of Reptile, the hidden fighter from the original Mortal Kombat game. Like Floyd, Reptile was notoriously difficult to defeat and employed a moveset drawn from other ninjas.

Unlocking Floyd currently appears to be somewhat random, although the character provides clues to the necessary challenges. The community is actively working to uncover the precise method to trigger this encounter, but a definitive strategy remains elusive.
