Official: Dungeonborne is preparing to shut down

Dungeonborne, the PvPvE action game reminiscent of Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Its creators have announced the end of support and the closure of its servers, bringing a close to a project that lasted less than a year. Low player activity and a lack of substantial updates led to the game's demise.

While the Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. The official reason for the shutdown hasn't been publicly stated, but the extremely low player count is undeniably a major factor. Since late 2024, concurrent player numbers rarely exceeded 200, dwindling to a mere 10-15 in recent days.

Dungeonborne's servers will permanently close on May 28th, marking the definitive end of this ambitious project. Despite initial interest from fans of the genre, the game ultimately failed to reach its full potential.
