If you're a fan of genre-blending adventures, Patch Quest is now available on Android, brought to you by Crunchyroll. Originally launched in early access for PC in May 2021, the game saw its full release in March 2023. Drawing inspiration from roguelike mechanics, bullet-hell combat, metroidvania exploration, and monster-taming gameplay, Patch Quest offers a uniquely chaotic experience that’s hard to put down.
Explore a Shuffling Patchwork Maze Full of Monsters in Patch Quest
Set within the quirky world of Patchlantis—an island stitched together from various patches—each new run reshuffles the layout of the environment. This ensures that no two journeys are ever identical, keeping every playthrough fresh and unpredictable.
Your only constant companion throughout the chaos is your trusty lasso. More than just a tool, it becomes your key to survival. With it, you can capture over 50 unique monster species (and even more when factoring in subspecies), each offering different ways to navigate or survive intense battles.
Every creature you encounter can be tamed, ridden, and used to traverse the dangerous terrain. Some monsters soar through the skies, while others swim beneath the surface or dig underground. Certain species like the Buzzerker transform into living harpoons, the Sandamander burrows to safety, Torrentoise deflects attacks with its armored shell, and Combusdile creates fiery barriers—offering creative solutions to tricky situations.

How’s the Combat?
Combat in Patch Quest is fast-paced and packed with danger. The game features a relentless bullet-hell mechanic where enemies fill the screen with projectiles while you unleash abilities to stay alive. Even failed runs aren’t in vain—you’ll often come away with something valuable, whether it's a new shortcut, a stronger pet, or a better understanding of the island’s secrets.
Scattered across the island are over 200 types of plants and minerals. Many fruits can be blended into powerful ammo smoothies that grant temporary buffs. Others can be used to unlock new gear, expanding your movement options and giving you more tools to survive the next challenge.
Crunchyroll subscribers can download Patch Quest directly from the Google Play Store [ttpp].
