This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable new Pokémon: Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, alongside Eevee in a Santa hat! This special event, running the week of December 23rd, offers boosted chances to catch these Pokémon and earn bonus Dream Shards. Shiny versions will also be available.
Catching Pawmi in Pokémon Sleep
Pawmi appears starting December 23rd at 3 PM on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Its boosted appearance during the event increases your chances. Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot all have a "Snoozing" sleep type. While evolution via Candies is possible, studying their sleep styles requires wild encounters. A "Snoozing" sleep type (a common, light sleep) maximizes your chances, though the "Balanced" sleep type offers a smaller probability.
Catching Alolan Vulpix in Pokémon Sleep
Alolan Vulpix also debuts on December 23rd at 3 PM, but is rarer, appearing only on Snowdrop Tundra. Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetails have a "Slumbering" sleep type, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter rates. Like Pawmi, a "Balanced" sleep type can also yield results, but less frequently.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
To maximize your chances of catching both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, focus on Snowdrop Tundra during the event. However, be aware that Snowdrop Tundra has higher team requirements, so preparation is key.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
