Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Remain Essential for Future Expansions
The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that Pack Hourglasses will continue to function in upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions, dispelling recent rumors suggesting their obsolescence. This confirmation ensures players can continue to stockpile these valuable time-saving items.
The October 2024 launch of Pokemon TCG Pocket, a popular replacement for Pokemon TCG Live, introduced the Mythical Island expansion with 68 new cards. With another expansion anticipated in January 2025, speculation arose that Pack Hourglasses would become irrelevant. However, The Pokemon Company's statement clarifies that these hourglasses will consistently reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour, regardless of the expansion.
This announcement counters earlier suggestions of a new in-game currency specifically for expansion-related hourglasses. While such a system might be implemented later, it's not part of the upcoming expansion. Players can continue accumulating Pack Hourglasses through daily challenges and the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop. Each hourglass reduces the 12-hour Pack Stamina wait by one hour, allowing players to open two booster packs daily.
Beyond Pack Hourglasses, the game boasts various currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, different types of Tickets, Poke Gold, and Pack Points. The confirmation regarding Pack Hourglasses should alleviate concerns among players who had worried about the value of their existing stockpiles. Given the game's current success, further expansions are highly likely, solidifying the ongoing utility of Pack Hourglasses.
