The new year in Pokémon GO is bringing trainers a plethora of new Pokémon to catch! Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is making its debut – but obtaining it isn't as simple as a standard wild encounter.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Arrival
The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, enters Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively recent addition to the Pokémon world. Post-event, Shroodle will remain available.
Shiny Shroodle?
Unlike some recent releases, Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Its Shiny variant will probably appear in a future event, potentially one focused on Poison-type Pokémon or Team GO Rocket.
How to Catch Shroodle
Following a recent trend, Shroodle isn't a wild spawn. Instead, trainers must hatch it from 12KM Eggs. Currently, this is the sole method of acquiring Shroodle.
12KM Eggs obtained from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to contain Shroodle. Its hatch rate is expected to be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain in the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Obtaining 12KM Eggs
Since Shroodle is exclusive to 12KM Eggs, a reminder on how to obtain them is helpful. These are rare, and only obtainable by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event provides an ideal opportunity to stock up, as Team GO Rocket will be more prevalent, and Rocket Radars easier to acquire. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to encounter these Leaders and obtain a 12KM Egg (provided you have inventory space).
Acquiring Grafaiai
Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also debuts on January 15th. It's not found in the wild or hatched from eggs; evolution is the only method. Evolution requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating hatching multiple Shroodle or using one as your buddy Pokémon.
