Tencent's Polaris Quest Unveils Ambitious Open-World RPG, Light of Motiram, for Mobile
Today brings exciting news: following the Project Mugen title reveal, Tencent's Polaris Quest announced its open-world RPG, Light of Motiram, is heading to mobile!
Initially revealed via Chinese social media (via Gematsu), Light of Motiram will launch on Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation 5, and apparently mobile devices. This is a bold move, considering the game's impressive visuals and extensive feature set.
What exactly is Light of Motiram? It's a genre-bending experience. It's an open-world RPG, reminiscent of Genshin Impact, but also incorporates base-building (Rust), customizable giant mechanical creatures (Horizon Zero Dawn), and creature collection (Pokémon, perhaps even a touch of Palworld).
The sheer number of features is both surprising and impressive, though it raises questions about the feasibility of a mobile release maintaining such high visual fidelity and complex systems.
Currently, a mobile beta is reportedly in development. We'll provide updates as soon as more details emerge regarding how Tencent and Polaris Quest plan to optimize this expansive game for smartphones.
