Former Veilguard Game Director Abandons BioWare

Reports suggest turmoil at BioWare, with conflicting accounts emerging. Recent online chatter, attributed to sources described as "agenda fighters," claimed BioWare Edmonton's closure and the departure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard's game director.

Eurogamer journalists corroborate at least part of this, confirming the departure of Corinne Boucher in the coming weeks. Boucher, an 18-year EA veteran, primarily worked on The Sims franchise.

However, Eurogamer clarifies that the alleged closure of The Veilguard's developer remains unsubstantiated speculation.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is divided. While some hail it as a triumphant return to form, others view it as a solid, albeit unremarkable, RPG. At the time of writing, Metacritic shows no negative reviews.

Many reviewers laud the game's engaging, action-packed gameplay, particularly challenging at higher difficulty settings. Conversely, some, like VGC, criticize the gameplay as feeling dated and lacking innovation. The game's overall reception remains a mixed bag.
