Following the World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary event, the Turbulent Timeways event offers players engaging activities leading up to Patch 11.1. This recurring event, previously featured during Dragonflight, presents a unique reward system tied to accumulating a specific buff.
Turbulent Timeways Event Details
Unlike standard Timewalking events, Turbulent Timeways features five consecutive weeks of active Timewalking dungeons (January 1st to February 25th), each week highlighting a different expansion's dungeons:
- Week 1: Mists of Pandaria (January 7th-14th)
- Week 2: Warlords of Draenor (January 14th-21st)
- Week 3: Legion (January 21st-28th)
- Week 4: Classic (January 28th-February 4th)
- Week 5: The Burning Crusade (February 4th-11th)
- Week 6: Wrath of the Lich King (February 11th-18th)
- Week 7: Cataclysm (February 18th-25th)
Completing a Timewalking dungeon grants a "Knowledge of Timeways" buff (two-hour duration, non-expiring upon death), providing a 5% experience bonus. Four stacks of this buff upgrade to "Mastery of Timeways" (three-hour duration, non-expiring upon death), granting a 30% experience bonus. Both buffs refresh with each completed Timewalking dungeon. Maintaining four stacks of Knowledge of Timeways without expiration is key to obtaining Mastery of Timeways. Avoid extended AFK periods to prevent buff decay.
Turbulent Timeways Rewards
Beyond the leveling advantages of the buffs, several rewards are available:
The Sandy Shalewing mount, a returning reward from the Dragonflight event, is purchasable from Timewalking vendors for 5,000 Timewarped Badges.
A new mount, the Timely Buzzbee, is earned by achieving the Mastery of Timeways buff during five out of the seven event weeks.
