Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad of iconic characters and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.
Gameplay involves assembling a team to confront the forces of "hell," engaging in combat against demonic adversaries. The reveal trailer featured characters from various Warriors titles, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, characters can be recruited and added to your team, providing additional summoning abilities. Players can deploy up to seven heroes simultaneously, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch.
Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors, and further waves of characters are planned. The developer even hinted at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series joining the fray in future updates.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players who wish to obtain the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
