Acclaimed director Bong Joon-ho teams up with Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Batman) in Mickey 17, a sci-fi thriller with darkly comedic undertones. Pattinson plays an "expendable," a clone repeatedly sent on dangerous missions with the understanding that death is a likely outcome. Each death results in a new clone taking his place, continuing the cycle. Interestingly, Pattinson has stated that the character he'd most like to give a second chance to is Cedric Diggory, a nod to his earlier role. IGN critic Siddhant Adlakha describes the film as a "depressing" yet philosophically rich experience, viewing its pessimism as a commentary on the current political climate.

Mickey 17 Streaming Release Date
Unlike Netflix or Hulu, Mickey 17 will stream on Max. Warner Bros., the distributor, owns the Max streaming service. Considering the three-month theatrical-to-streaming window of other recent Warner Bros. films like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, a late July release on Max is a reasonable expectation. The shorter window for Joker: Folie à Deux was an exception due to its box office performance.
