To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is letting fans decide on its next official merchandise! A whopping 100 items are up for grabs, with the top two vote-getters slated for production within the next two years. The poll is available on the official website (in Japanese).
While some options are fairly standard, like anniversary hoodies and pencil cases, many others draw from the series' famously eccentric history. Expect the unexpected!
Among the more unusual choices are Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, Majima's oversized traffic cone hiding spot from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options include Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4, to name a few.
2025 marks not only the anniversary but also the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean (sic, likely a typo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) on February 21st. While a second release in the same year isn't confirmed, it's not outside the realm of possibility given RGG Studio's prolific output. The studio has released nine games in the last five years alone, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, plus an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
