Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially listed in the in-game store for $19.99, the skin was later revealed to be a free reward for watching a Twitch stream for one hour on February 12th. This announcement, made a day after the skin's paid release, angered many players who had already purchased it.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced backlash for selling cosmetic items and subsequently offering them for free. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard has yet to address refund requests.

Facing stiff competition, particularly from Marvel Rivals, Blizzard is attempting damage control. To reinvigorate interest in Overwatch 2, they've announced a "Spotlight" event on February 12th, promising revolutionary gameplay changes, new maps, heroes, and other content reveals. Prominent streamers will also be present to provide early impressions of upcoming updates.
