Fans of the cooperative action game *Elden Ring Nightreign* will notice a significant departure from the traditional elements seen in From Software games—the absence of the notorious poisonous swamps. Yasuhiro Kitao, the product manager for the project, revealed this change during a recent discussion with journalists. While a similar location was featured in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it is an entirely different area. The reason behind the omission of these iconic swamps? The absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affection for swamp environments. His influence led to the inclusion of such areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other news, there's a glimmer of hope for fans hoping for a more intimate cooperative experience. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been confirmed to feature one-player and three-player modes, the developers initially excluded a two-player mode due to challenges with content balancing. However, From Software is currently contemplating the addition of a two-player mode. No final decision has been made yet, but the possibility is on the table.
Mark your calendars—*Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles. Keep an eye out for further updates as the release date approaches.
