Marvel Rivals Season 2 Features and Events
Switch Shader Compilation Mode

NetEase is set to launch an experimental feature to enhance Marvel Rivals’ stability and lower memory demands. On April 30, Marvel Rivals shared via X that the Switch Shader Compilation Mode will debut, aiming to improve gameplay for players, particularly those with lower RAM or facing FPS issues.
A detailed blog post on the Marvel Rivals website outlined what players can expect from this feature. The post highlighted player concerns about performance stutters and crashes caused by high memory usage during gameplay.

The blog stated, “To tackle memory overload, Season 2 introduces the Switch Shader Compilation Mode, available via the PC launcher.” This feature is ideal for systems with 16GB of RAM or less.
With the feature enabled, the game will offer these improvements:
● Shader compilation will occur only upon first launching the game after a version or graphics driver update.
● Memory usage is significantly reduced, minimizing severe FPS drops, visual freezes, and crashes due to memory shortages.
Developers noted potential issues, such as brief abnormal rendering of materials at the start of matches, which should normalize quickly. Minor stutters may occur but typically resolve during gameplay.
