Valheim Merchant Locations Revealed

Quick Links

Valheim is a game that challenges players to explore new biomes and gather materials to prepare for battles against formidable bosses. The journey can be tough, especially in treacherous areas like the Swamp and Mountain, where even the most seasoned adventurers can fall quickly. However, the game offers some relief through its merchants, who provide essential items to ease your journey through Valheim's dangerous world. With three merchants currently available, each offers unique goods that can significantly enhance your gameplay. Finding them can be tricky due to the game's procedurally generated worlds, but here's how to locate each merchant and what they have to offer.

How To Find Haldor In Valheim (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor, the Black Forest Merchant, is relatively easier to find as he spawns within a 1500m radius of the world's center, making him the closest trader to your starting point. You'll encounter him in the Black Forest biome, which you can explore early in the game.

Haldor often appears near the spawn area of The Elder, the boss of the Black Forest. You can locate The Elder's nearest spawn by checking the glowing ruins in Burial Chambers. However, given the vast area to cover, using the Valheim World Generator, created by wd40bomber7, can help you pinpoint Haldor's location by entering your world seed.

Haldor can spawn in multiple locations, but once you find him, he'll always return to that spot. It's wise to build a portal nearby for easy access. Trading with Haldor requires gold, which you can obtain by exploring dungeons and selling items like Rubies, Amber Pearls, Silver Necklaces, and more.

How To Find Hildir In Valheim (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir, found in the Meadows, is more challenging to locate than her brother Haldor. Despite being in the safest biome, she tends to spawn far from the world's center, typically between 3000 and 5100m away. Each potential spawn point is about 1000m apart, meaning you'll need to explore distant Meadows to find her.

Using the Valheim World Generator can expedite your search, but if you prefer the challenge, look for a T-Shirt icon on your map when you're within 300-400m of her location. Once you find Hildir, build a portal for easy return trips.

Hildir specializes in clothing that offers various buffs, with many items providing similar benefits to cater to different aesthetic preferences. Additionally, she offers quests that lead you to new dungeons in different biomes, such as Smouldering Tombs in The Black Forest, Howling Caverns in Mountains, and Sealed Towers in The Plains. Completing these quests and returning the chests to Hildir unlocks new items with diverse effects.

How To Find The Bog Witch In Valheim (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch, the newest addition to Valheim's traders, resides in the challenging Swamp biome. You might need to upgrade your gear before venturing into this area, as it's one of the most dangerous in the game.

The Bog Witch can be found between 3000m and 8000m from the world's center, with potential spawn points 1000m apart. Using the Valheim World Generator can be particularly helpful in locating her, but if you're up for the challenge, look for her Cauldron icon on the map as you get closer. Once found, she'll stay in that location, so bring materials to build a portal for future visits.

The Bog Witch is unique as she's a friendly Greydwarf with a magical Kvastur that keeps her hut tidy and fights off enemies. Her hut offers a comfort level of 3, and she provides access to new items for cooking and crafting meads.
