Hearthstone's upcoming The Great Dark Beyond mini-set, Heroes of StarCraft, introduces 49 cards featuring iconic StarCraft factions. Launching January 21st, this expansion boasts the largest mini-set ever, exceeding the usual 38 cards with 4 Legendary, 1 Epic, 20 Rare, and 24 Common cards.
Unprecedented Scale and Diversity:
This isn't just about quantity; the mini-set offers significant variety. Each StarCraft faction contributes 5 multi-class cards, culminating in a special neutral card, Grunty, as the centerpiece.
Players can acquire the Heroes of StarCraft mini-set by opening The Great Dark Beyond packs or purchasing the complete 94-card set (standard: 2500 Gold; all-golden: 12,000 Gold).
Faction Spotlight:
-
Zerg: Led by Sarah Kerrigan, the Zerg faction focuses on overwhelming opponents with swarms of minions. Their multi-class cards support Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock classes. Expect abundant token generation.
-
Protoss: High Templar Artanis leads the Protoss, whose Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue cards emphasize powerful, high-cost plays that become progressively cheaper, enabling explosive turns.
-
Terran: Under Jim Raynor's command, the Terran faction (Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior) leverages Starship synergies, allowing for multiple Starship deployments per game. The highlight is the redesigned Battlecruiser, featuring new art and the Mech minion type. Owning a Signature Starship unlocks a Signature-art Battlecruiser.
